Female Pelvic Floor

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction can include the following: pain with sexual intercouse (vaginismus, vulvodynia), difficulty sitting (coccydynia), & other pelvic pain (interstitial cystitis, endometriosis)

Treatment Technique

Manual therapy (the best tools as a physical therapist are their hands, as such some of the following techniques are often applied)

  • Visceral Manipulation: to remove tension within the connective tissue of the organs, membranes, fascia and ligaments.  resulting from surgical scars, adhesions, illness, posture or injury and improve

  • Craniosacral Therapy: gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that to reduce tension within the central nervous system - your brain and nerves

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): your lymphatic system helps eliminate your body’s waste. MLD is a gentle technique that encourages the natural drainage of the “lymph" fluid”, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Very effective with post surgical cases.

  • Myofascial release/Soft tissue mobilization: a more direct away to remove tensions in your muscles, fascia, connective tissues.

  • Scar tissue mobilization/joint mobilization: a stronger more direct technique to achieve mobility to a restricted scar or joint.
